Assuming you have a registered domain name (such as ukwidgets.co.uk) registered with us, we can provide e-mail facilities.

E-mail covers a multitude of facilities. Real mailboxes used to store messages and attachments, virtual mailboxes used to send mail to a real mailbox, autoresponders for ‘I’m away’ type messages and protection from SPAM.

Each ‘real’ mailbox costs £10 + VAT/year and includes 400Mb of space.

A premium mailbox costs £20 + VAT/year and includes 2Gb of space.

We can provide anti-virus protection for a whole DOMAIN (any number of mailboxes attached to the same address – like fred@ukwidgets.co.uk, betty@ukwidgets.co.uk and so on) for £30 + VAT/year.

Spam filters

Although many e-mail clients and add-on software packages are very adept at filtering out unwanted mail (SPAM), you still have to download it first. Our mailboxes can be configured with four levels of SPAM filtering so that e-mail rubbish doesn’t even reach you.

Redirection and autoresponders

If you have 5 or more mailboxes with us we can provide you with a control panel facility at no extra cost. Using this, you can add ‘virtual’ mailboxes and ‘autoresponders’.

‘Virtual’ mailboxes are simply an address that redirects mail to one or more real mailboxes. A typical example is an enquiry address, like enquiry@ukwidgets.co.uk, that redirects mail to one or more real mailboxes. This has two advantages. The first is that several people can automatically receive a copy of general e-mails. The second is that these ‘virtual’ addresses are easier to create and replace. If/when one of these virtual addresses receives large amounts of spam, it can be replaced. If this is an address on your web site or used by a form on the web site to send you enquiries, replacing it will cause little or any problems.

‘Autoresponders’ are a way of automatically sending a response when a message is received at a mailbox. They are commonly used for ‘out of office’ messages or to acknowledge enquiries. This way, the sender can automatically be informed by a suitably worded message that you are away, when you’ll return and what to do in your absence. An enquirer could be sent a brief message that their enquiry has been received and that it will be dealt with promptly.
